1) The Big Billion Hunt

Flipkart is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of its upcoming annual sale, Big Billion Days. Moving away from the tried and tested route of traditional advertising, Flipkart has launched a digital campaign with DentsuWebchutney for the sale. The campaign, comprising a 360-degree video, is an interesting mix of advertising and treasure hunt.

Taking from the campaign theme, ‘Ab itne mein ITNAAAA milega’, the activity maximises the experience of the user by packing in a treasure hunt within the 360 video. The 360 video shot within the Flipkart head-office, gives users a tour of several conference and meeting rooms, the movie and music themed floors, the lobby arena and more. Across the locations, offers are hidden on a poster on the movie floor, on the T-shirt of a busy employee passing by, and others. Users have to spin their phones, spot these offers and screenshot them. The screenshots of these offers have to be shared back with Flipkart in exchange for grand prizes.

Speaking about the new campaign, Shoumyan Biswas, Vice President – Marketing, Flipkart, said, “For us engaging with our users with a compelling story is as important as sales. We constantly like to push the frontiers – be it with our service, technology or consumer engagements.”

The 360 video hunt capitalises on the internet eyeballs grabbed by The Big Billion Hunt (India’s first Instagram tag-innovation) carried out last year. This year again, the medium has been optimised to the fullest to give users a novel experience within a known format.

2)30 years of the GIF

Graphic Interchange Format, popularly known as GIF, has come a long way. What started as an image format with lossless data compression that made images smaller in file size 30 years back, has now become a form of visual shorthand - a language that draws on culturally resonant moments to communicate the full range of human emotions in just a few seconds.

As a tribute to GIF, ScoopWhoop launched a month-long campaign to celebrate the 30th birthday of the image format on June 15, 2017 - the day GIFs turned 30.The campaign was carried out on Facebook and Twitter using #30YearsOfGIF. A campaign microsite was also created which showcased all 30 GIF.

The '30 Years of GIF' campaign showcases major events of the past 30 years - such as fall of the Berlin Wall, Nelson Mandela released from jail, terrorist attacks on World Trade Center, launch of Facebook and many more - through 30 interesting GIFs. These were no ordinary GIFs. For every GIF a new miniature installation was created mechanically and programmed to play in a loop. Then they were filmed.

"The key events were decided after a painstaking process. The events were chosen on the basis of their impact on our lives. Technology, movies, pop culture, global events were a few categories from which the most historic events chosen. Just like GIF shaped the world we live in, most of the events on the list too changed the world,"

So the above campaign was proved to be the Best Facebook Case-study and which also help the brand to gain more awareness.
